MIKA
Mika (Mika Maekawa) is a contemporary artist who was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.
Her talents include drawing, illustrating, painting, and much more.
Mika refers to her pieces as her babies. As they are created from her intuition, mind, struggle, feeling, passion, love
she feels as if each work is the unique product of lovemaking between her and her creative outlet of choice.
She prefers to illustrate with black/red/grey/white colors.
She believes monotone colors reflect human existence, for example, red signifying love, blood, and hate simultaneously.
She is currently living in New York City.
She is available for gallery showings at request.
" Mika's clever works use simple imagery and palette (black, white and red) to express complex emotions through ironic imagery. Macabre, yet humorous, her images make the viewer want to explore them more and more! "
